Tom will be paying tribute on the Big Band Heat Saturday 13th December 2pm Celebrating Gordon's Life and his Big Phat Band

Tom has interviewed Gordon many times over the years and the show will feature one of Tom's interviews with Gordon

on December 8, 2025 Gordon Goodwin sadly passed away (aged 70) Tom will be doing a tribute on the big band heat Saturday 13th 14:00 with his final interview but in 2026 Tom will celebrating Gordon's Life with a special as 2026 marks 25 years of the Gordon Goodwin big Band . Tom has interviewed hime many times over the years

As the driving force behind the Big Phat Band, he has redefined the big band genre, effortlessly blending swing, Latin, blues, and rock influences into a vibrant, original sound. His music continues to inspire audiences and musicians alike, honouring the past while boldly shaping the future of jazz.

Jazz Trumpeter Thomas James Ladnier

Thomas James Ladnier was a distinguished American jazz trumpeter whose work in the early twentieth century left a lasting impact on the genre.

Ladnier was highly esteemed by jazz critics, notably Hugues Panassié, who rated him just behind Louis Armstrong. Ladnier died on 4 June 1939, but his influence on jazz endures.

Nicola Farnon co Host with Tom on Christmas Day shows

Widely recognised as one of the classiest Jazz and Swing singers and/or double bassists in the UK, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nicola Farnon has a remarkable musical pedigree, both parents being professional classical musicians and her great uncle no less than the late Robert Farnon.  Originally raised classically on the cello and the piano, Nicola started singing and playing double bass in her twenties which led to a jazz career spanning 25 years (so far!).
